Nathan & Vanessa: Chilliwack Vineyard Wedding!

Nathan and Vanessa's wedding took place on September 7, 2013.  We had amazing weather...gorgeous bride & bridesmaids, fun groomsmen & groom... and it was my last wedding of 2013!

Their engagement story took place in Alberta this past January while they were visiting Vanessa's family.  After dinner, Nathan asked Vanessa to go out for a walk (in the minus 25 degree weather!) and she went.  After walking around the property, they came across a random electrical cord... and Nathan got down on one knee in the snow, plugged in the electrical cord and a giant sign lit up that said "Will you marry me>" in red Christmas rope lights!  (great idea!)  Of course Vanessa said yes to the proposal and that brings us to their wedding day in September.

The morning started out with the ladies and guys all getting ready at the Travelodge in Chilliwack, BC.  My assistant, Jessica was able to head over to the guy's room and took these great shots of them getting ready, while I headed over to the ladies...

Meanwhile, in another room across the hotel, I was with the ladies as they got their hair and makeup ready!  I love the purple colour of the bridesmaids' dresses... and Vanessa's dress was gorgeous!  And the shoes????... they were so sparkly!

Their wedding ceremony took place at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chilliwack, BC.  It's a cute little church perfect for a wedding... Nathan saw Vanessa for the first time that day as she walked down the aisle :)

We were able to head to a couple different locations for photos that afternoon!  First stop was High River/Corbould Park, where we took family photos first and then some wedding party shots.  The second location was where the reception was being held, on a private vineyard property along the Fraser River.
Big thanks to the entire wedding party... the bride's attendants: Nadine, Melissa and Ryan and the groomsmen: Jonathan, Dennis and James for being such great subjects in front of the camera!  We had a blast working with all of you!

After photos... we walked over to the reception building and were able to take some detail shots as guests started arriving.  The private vineyard property was the perfect setting for photos and a wedding reception!

The gorgeous wedding cake made by Melissa Siemens of Sweet Addictions... who was also one of the bridesmaids!
After cutting the cake, Nathan and Vanessa headed out onto the dance floor for their first dance.  They danced to "I Think I'm In Love" by Charlie Wilson.
Father and Daughter Dance...
Mother and Son Dance...
Time for everyone to dance!

Congratulations Nathan and Vanessa on your marriage!  I had a great time spending the day with you both and photographing your wedding.  You two made a gorgeous, cute and fun bride and groom to work with!

Big thank you to Jessica Dherari, who was my second shooter for the day!  It was great working with you! :)
