Lyndon & Emma: Campbell Valley Park // Langley Wedding

Lyndon and Emma were married on August 17th and it was a privilege to spend the day working with them and photographing their wedding... I love spending the day with couples on their wedding day, especially when they are as fun as these two!

How they met... Lyndon and Emma first met each other on a school bus in Grade 5 when Lyndon started attending the same school as Emma.  I love that they have known each other for so many years.

Their engagement story… Lyndon and Emma, and their son Eli were on vacation at his family’s cabin on Gambier Island, once his family arrived, they were able to sneak off for an evening without their son for some stargazing out on the dock.  Little did Emma know, was that Lyndon had bought a ring and everyone knew about it! :)  He proposed to Emma out on the dock that evening.

The wedding... Well, now their story brings them to their wedding day!  I started off my day by heading over to the bride's home, where her and all of her bridesmaids were getting ready.  Each bridesmaid chose their own style dress, but all matched with the same colour.  Emma gifted bracelets to each of the ladies, and they matched perfectly along with their mint coloured shoes (one of my favourite colours!).

While I was with the ladies, my assistant, Laura Rosten spent her morning with the groom and his groomsmen at his home.  Here's a few shots of their morning from Laura!

After everyone's hair and makeup, it was time for the dress! Emma's dress was gorgeous... but the one detail that really stood out to me was how sparkly it was! (I love, love, love sparkly dresses).   She looked like she stepped straight off the red carpet.

Lyndon and Emma had their ceremony at the Star of the Sea Parish, a cute little church in White Rock, BC.  This was the first time that Lyndon would see Emma... walking down the aisle.  I love seeing the groom's reaction to seeing their bride for the first time, whether it's at the ceremony or during a first look.

After visiting with family and friends outside the church, we headed off with the bridal party to Campbell Valley Park in Langley, BC for their photos!  The weather was perfect, and the park was a perfect setting for wedding photos... infact I believe we saw around 5 other wedding parties using the park for photos while we were there!
I want to say a big thank you to the entire wedding party for being so patient and easy to work with.  Thank you to the bridesmaids; Christi, Randi, Emma and Tiffany and the groomsmen; Austin, Adrian, Tanner and Wesley for being such great sports in front of the camera.  You made my job easier. :)

Emma and her gorgeous bridesmaids... seriously, they look like they stepped out of a wedding magazine!

While the rest of the wedding party "chilled" under a tree in the park, I had the chance to work one on one with Lyndon and Emma for their bride & groom portraits... I can't get enough of these two!  The sun started to peek out of the clouds for some gorgeous, warm, sparkly dress photos :)

The day didn't stop there... we carried on to the reception after our time at Campbell Valley Park.  The reception took place at the groom's parents' home.   I had a sneak peek of the property earlier that morning after dropping off my assistant at their house, and was already excited when I saw the tent and some of the decor, but I was amazed when we arrived that evening.  There was a lot of decor put up after the morning and the amount of effort that Emma & Lyndon's families put into the wedding and setup was amazing.  There were lanterns hanging high up in the trees, lawn games set up for guest to enjoy, tables and chairs and areas to relax and visit and the decor on the tables was beautiful.  Basically a photographer's dream!  A lot of detail and personal touches to photograph... everywhere you looked there was something unique set up for their wedding.

Lyndon & Emma had their first dance under paper lanterns and sparkly lights.  Since it was dark... meaning no light, I set up my off camera flash to light up the dance floor and get a few creative silhouette shots.  Their first dance song was "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" by Elvis.

Emma and her Father...
Lyndon and his Mother...

Their wedding date, August 17th, was also a special day for the groom's parents!  Cameron and Lorelei were also celebrating their anniversary and had the chance to have their own dance out on the dancefloor before everyone joined them.
