Weekend Happenings: Personal

I didn't have any portrait sessions or weddings this weekend... but I thought I would "check in" anyways! :)  This weekend was a relaxing time... and a time to visit and catch up with friends.  Steve and I attended our friends, Randy & Darcey's wedding yesterday!  It was a gorgeous wedding!  I only brought along my point and shoot camera, but I managed to get this cute shot of them shortly before the reception started.  So cute!

Congratulations Randy & Darcey on your marriage!  Steve and I had a fantastic time celebrating with you yesterday and we wish you all the best!

Today is the end of the weekend... and we relaxed, watched some TV and did just about nothing all afternoon.  It was quite nice!   Here's a couple photos of Mocha from this afternoon.  He's always sitting by the window "chattering" at the birds outside. :)

Sean, Jen & Kaelynn: Stanley Park Family Session

I'm not sure where the gorgeous weather that we had on the weekend went, but I'm glad that the sunshine decided to cooperate with us for this family session!  Sunday afternoon I met up with the Davies family in Stanley Park.  This was my session in the park and it was great!  There are so many places in Stanley Park to take photos.

Here are some of my favourite shots from Sean, Jen and their adorable baby girl! :)

Davies Family: Stanley Park Preview!

This past weekend we were blessed with gorgeous weather!  I can't believe how warm it was.  :)  Fortunately I was outside with a camera most of the weekend!  Saturday I had the chance to attend a photography workshop (photos coming on the blog soon!) and Sunday afternoon I met up with the Davies family to take some portraits in Stanley Park.  Here's just a sneak peek of their family... and their adorable baby girl. More photos coming later this week!

Styled Wedding Shoot: Coming in June!

You may remember that I've organized a few Relive the Dress shoots in the past... they were a blast!  (You can see some photos of just a couple shoots HERE, HERE and HERE!)

This year, we're doing something similiar, but not.  We're stepping it up a notch!  Styling it up infact!

In the past we've had some props and unique locations, but this time it's going to be a complete styled wedding set up!
Cecilia Flaming Photography has teamed up with  Alyssa Rae Photography and Melissa Page Photo Art to host a Styled Wedding Shoot on June 24, and you have the chance to attend!

What is it?
It will be a styled wedding shoot, complete with wedding decor, table setting and cake... and with 5 models!  (2 couples (brides & groom) and one bride).  The whole event will take place on a farm setting.  So you get a chance to photograph a "mini wedding reception" set up as well as the opportunity to direct and pose some gorgeous people!

For more information...
Visit:  Styled Wedding Shoots! (site no longer works) to see registration details and event info.  The shoot will be capped at 12 attendees, and registration starts April 29, at noon.

PS. We also have some AMAZING prizes donated already from some great sponsors!  The Album Cafe, BluDomain and more!  Can't wait to share with you closer to the day what they are!!!

Troy & Kim: 2nd Shooting for Perfect Moments Photography

On March 24th, I had the opportunity to start off the 2012 wedding season by second shooting for Anita Chapman of Perfect Moments Photography!   I always enjoy 2nd shooting and assisting other photographers... it takes off a bit of that stress that comes with being a primary shooter and you still get a chance to be creative and shoot at a wedding!

Make sure to visit Perfect Moment's website to see Kim and Troy's wedding!  Anita is a fantastic photographer... did you know she shot our wedding wayyyy back in 2007?!  At that time, photography was only a hobby for me and now, I've had the opportunity to 2nd shoot for Anita!  I didn't think back then that I would be shooting weddings one day!

Kim & Troy's wedding day started off great with lots of sunshine!  I seriously doubt it's ever been that sunny and warm for a March wedding in BC before!  (Living in the greater Vancouver are, you can usually expect a lot of rain!)

I headed over to where the guys were getting ready (with another assistant, Hayley!).  The guys were a blast!  Super friendly and they even "acted out" some of the getting ready shots for us.  I don't think I've ever taken so many "getting ready" photos of guys before!  :)  Here's some shots of Troy getting ready with his groomsmen: Gordon, Noah and Jeremy.
After everyone was suited up, Hayley and I headed over to First United Church in White Rock, BC for the wedding ceremony.  We were able to take some shots of the church and details before guests arrived.  Kim and her bridesmaids: Vanessa, Candice and Jasmine arrived at the church and the ceremony began!  I loved the purple bridesmaid dresses, the colour really "popped" in the sunshine. :)
After the ceremony, Anita worked her magic with the bride & groom and the wedding party at a couple different locations.  We headed off to White Rock Beach and then at Sendall Gardens in Langley, BC shortly before heading off to the wedding reception.   Here's a collection of shots I took throughout the afternoon while assisting Anita!
The day ended off with Kim & Troy's wedding reception at Newlands Golf and Country Club.  I haven't had the chance to shoot at Newlands before, so it was neat to shoot at a new venue!  They have amazing glass walls and strands of lights were hung everywhere... Kim and Troy planned a gorgeous wedding with so many details!
Thank you Anita for giving me the opportunity to second shoot for the day!  It was fantastic working for you again and thank you for all the tips and advice you gave throughout the day... you are AMAZING! :)

Gastown: Adventures of Steve & Cecilia

A few weeks ago Steve and I spent some time walking around in Gastown, Vancouver.  (I wanted to 'scope' it out for Kyle & Julia's engagment session!) :)  We started out at Canada Place, took a few shots of the fog rolling in over the water and then headed into Gastown for the evening.  There are some fabulous places to take photos all throughout Gastown, if you ever want a session near Canada Place or in Gastown, I highly recommend it!  The brick roads, walls and lights... you can literally take photos there during the day and night, it's always beautiful. :)  Here's just a few photos that Steve and I took!
