Will & Kate: A Royal Wedding

Congratulations to the royal couple, Will & Kate!
This morning I woke up early and went online to find photos from the royal wedding.  I have been waiting to see what Kate’s dress looks like and I loved it!  It was a beautiful gown, bride, wedding, everything was amazing.  I then fell more in love with her evening gown! (Love the sparkly band).  I didn't end up watching it, because I'm shooting a wedding today so I needed my sleep! :)
I’m wondering, everyone who’s had their eyes glued to the TV all morning, was it everything you thought it would be?  What was your favourite moment?
Kate's evening dress is actually my favourite from the 2!  Maybe because it's more modern, but she's gorgeous in both dresses.

Who stayed up late or woke up super early to watch the royal wedding?  I now wish I had!  But I am photographing today so I wanted to be well rested!

That's right!  I'm a shooting my own royal wedding couple; Jesse and Alayna later today at the Brock House in Jericho Beach!  I was so excited to find out they were featured in the Vancouver Sun this morning as one of the BC couples that share a date with royalty!  Check out the article!

Easter Family Gathering: Personal

Here's a few photos from our Easter family gathering (my dad's side of the family).  Good Friday we spent the afternoon having a great meal, visiting and even an Easter Egg Hunt!  There are also a few fish photos, my cousin has this large fish tank with Nemo and more!

Brian & Grace: Queen Elizabeth Park Engagement Session

It's been an exciting couple of weeks!  Wedding & Engagement season has started and I feel like I am getting super busy. I've also been featured on a couple wedding blogs lately and wanted to share these with you!

Last week a few photos of Courtney from the Trash the Dress shoot (in Elgin Heritage Park) were featured on The Charity Wedding Blog.  This morning I woke up to find Courtney's photos were once again featured, this time on Bliss!  Her photos are quite popular, as another blog has requested to publish the same shoot within the next month!  (I'll keep you posted when and where!). I wanted to give a huge thank you again to Courtney for being a wonderful model and braving the windy and snowy weather alongside other models and photographers!

Well, onto my latest e-session!  Saturday I had a great time with Grace & Brian, who are getting married at the end of May!  We met outside the Bloedel Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver.  Thankfully the rain stayed away for the morning and sunshine even crept through the clouds for the last few moments of their engagement session.

Beautiful couple! I'm looking forward to shooting your wedding in May!

A new love.. in 1.4

I have a new 50mm 1.4 lens!  My husband again found a fantastic deal through another photographer for a used 50mm 1.4 lens.  It was in mint condition... LOVE photographers who take super good care of their lenses and then sell them to me. hehe.  I tested it out to the max over the weekend on the D300s and D90.  And the result?  LOVE IT.  I already had two 50mm 1.8 lenses and they're great, but I highly recommend anyone who can afford to upgrade, to do it!  You won't regret it.

Queen Elizabeth Park: Adventures of Steve & Cecilia

Earlier this year Steve, my husband bought his very own DSLR, a Nikon D90.  Since then, we've been able to go out on "photo adventures" together where we head out to a park or neat location and take photos of things, nature, people and each other!  Steve has learned how to shoot manual and now has an equal obsession for camera gear and lenses like me! :)  We spent yesterday at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver.  I have an upcoming engagement session with one of my bride & grooms soon and thought it would be great to check it out since the park is so large!

Here's some of our photos, taken by me on the D300s and Steve on the D90.

Shanna: SFU Surrey Campus

Yesterday evening I met up with Shanna at Central City Mall and wandered around the SFU Surrey Campus.  Shanna has her own photography business, called Shanna Elizabeth Photography... make sure to find her facebook page and like her!  She's an amazing photographer! :)  We took a few photos of each other and tested out different lighting set ups with our speedlights.  Shanna was excited to use her new D700 and I had a new 50mm 1.4 lens to test out!  It was great visiting, chatting and shooting with you, Shanna! :)

Here's a few photos from the evening...
