Steve's Project: Making a Scratching Post

Ok, this post is not really "how to" make a scratching post, but more along the lines of "the making of a scratching post".  This is Steve's latest project!  My husband is quite handy... (it helps that he is a wood-worker) and he's always creating and working on something.
He made most of the scratching post at his work place, and brought it home to "carpet" it last night.  Yes... that's right, we spent Halloween making a cat scratching post. :)  Steve will do anything for our new kitty.  

I've put together some photos of Steve at work and then some cute shots with the finished results and of course, Mocha.
